V. im Augsburger Stadtrat vertreten, dessen aktuelle Legislaturperiode im Mai 2014 begonnen hat und im April 2020 enden wird. Peter Grab war vom Mai 2008 bis April 2014 Dritter Bürgermeister sowie Referent für Kultur, Jugendkultur und Sport der Stadt Augsburg. Der Stadtrat hat ihm die Bezeichnung Bürgermeister a. D. zuerkannt.

– Finanzausschuss
– Allgemeiner Ausschuss
– Sportausschuss
– Ausschuss für Organisation, Personal, Integration und Interkultur
– Kulturausschuss
– Werkausschuss für den Eigenbetrieb „Theater Augsburg“

Zur Zeit ist er in keinem Ausschuss Mitglied, denn dazu müsste Stadtrat Peter Grab wenigstens eine Ausschussgemeinschaft zusammen mit einer anderen politischen Gruppierung bilden. Aufgrund der Erfahrungen mit den beiden früheren Ausschussgemeinschaften arbeitet er derzeit lieber als Einzel-Stadtrat.
